A Grandparent DNA Test is used to confirm a biological relationship between a child and one or both alleged grandparents. This test is especially useful when the alleged father or mother is unavailable for testing—allowing families to still establish a genetic connection through the next closest relatives.

How It Works

  1. Sample Collection
A painless buccal (cheek) swab is collected from the child and one or both grandparents. If possible, including the mother of the child in the test improves accuracy.

  2. Lab Analysis
The laboratory analyzes and compares the DNA profiles to determine whether there is a biological relationship between the individuals. The results indicate a probability of relatedness, showing whether the tested individuals are likely to be the child’s biological grandparents.

  3. Results
Results are typically ready in 2–5 business days and can be used for:

    • Personal peace of mind

    • Legal purposes (such as custody or social security claims)

    • Immigration cases requiring family verification

   Types of Grandparent Testing Offered

  • Single Grandparent Test (only one grandparent tested)

  • Dual Grandparent Test (both grandparents tested for higher accuracy)

  • Legal Grandparent Test (court-admissible with proper chain of custody)

  • Non-Legal Test (for personal knowledge only)
